Save port or anchoring?
I'm just back from the TYPO3 GA in Zürich where I also met some of the participants of T3SAIL09 and many other community members who had a lot of questions concerning the T3SAIL and how a sailing cruise is like. One question was if we stay in save ports every night or if we are going to anchor, too.
How often we will be in a port for the night is depending on the route we are sailing. If we are near the coastline we will most probably be in a port for the night. There we have a 220V power connection, can go ashore without the need to use our Dinghi and we can go shopping.
Near the coast and if there is fine weather (ie. no wind and no waves) we could also anchor in a cove. That will save us the port fee for that night and it is absolutely idyllic!
How an anchor works and how an anchoring manover is done that is explaint in the latest television broadcast of "Kopfball". It is German but you should understand the most of it, even if you do not understand German. This way to the podcast.
If you have any questions, just send me a mail!
Fair winds,
Peter
